Many of us daydream about redecorating rooms in our home, but it is not always affordable. When wanting to redecorate our kitchens, cabinets are one of the first things that come to mind. Unfortunately, replacing cabinets can be quite the process and expensive.

One way to give your cabinets a new look is to apply wallpaper to the inside of your cabinets. You may think this is a trend of the past, but it has regained popularity recently. By applying patterned wallpaper to the interior of the cabinet can give a new and sophisticated look. This technique can be used not only in the kitchen but in the bathroom as well!

Using chalkboard paint around the home is a great new trend that seems to be popping up everywhere! What is chalkboard paint? Well, it is exactly what you think it is: a type of paint that dries to a similar finish as a chalkboard. Once applied, the paint can be written on just as a chalkboard would be and can be erased just as easily. You can paint just about ANY surface with chalkboard paint. Here are a few ideas:

Last week we talked about renewing your front door, this week it’s all about the hardware! Whether you replace or renew your doorknobs or drawer knobs, this is an excellent and easy way to freshen your home up. You can opt to paint over the old knobs with spray paint, which would be the more inexpensive alternative, or you can shop for new knobs! Either way this simple fix is sure to add the feeling of something new to your home.

First impressions are everything, and your home is no exception to that! A simple DIY home improvement that can up your homes curb appeal is by updating your front door!

You can either replace the front door altogether or just give it a new paint job. Another way to enhance the look of your front door is to add new house numbers, or trying out some new light fixtures. A little can go a long way when it comes to home improvement, and this is a great simple tip to enhance the look of your home.

 

Terrific Tiling!

Many sellers are looking for ways to increase the value of their homes and there are TONS of easy ways to polish the look of your home and increase its value in the process. Using mosaic tiling on the wall is one way to do this. Sheets of glass mosaic tile can be put just about anywhere in the home to create a decorative look. The wall of a shower, bathroom, kitchen backsplash, and even a fireplace are just a few examples of where this technique can be used.

Here is an example found in the northern New Jersey area of glass mosaic tiling used underneath a molding to break up the wall in a bathroom and create a sophisticated look.

This is a simple DIY project that can add some great value to your home when selling. There are tons of different patterns or examples of tiling that can be found online to guide this fun project and the mosaic tiling is inexpensive and can be found online or at your local home improvement store.
